This site is one of the most beautiful flying sites in the world. Please respect the delicate nature of the current 'closed' LZ. Don't fly when the beaches are busy, and please don't scare any beachgoers, since it took only 2 complaints to get this site closed.

Two separate launches on the ridge directly NE of Kings Beach State Park. Launch can be tricky due to the small, rocky set-up area and punchy thermals that roll through the launch. Be ready to be lifted up and practice your reverse flying skills just in case. The Kings Beach landing site has been closed by the North Tahoe Public Utilities District. Please land at Secline Beach (behind the Transam Gas Station) or in a pinch, land at the main beach below the high water-line, near the water's edge. This is the invisible, but very important property line.Please drop your wing immediately and walk up to the sidewalk to fold up. You run the risk of attracting the local police or the State Parks Ranger if you don't follow these new rules. Contact a local pilot for directions to launch. See 'landing' comments above.
